Life in the Planter
Been awhile since I wrote the blog. Mostly because of business. The plants in the planter are HUGE! They definately need a new home and soon. There are now 6 leaves total... with a 7th one starting. The rain has been enough for them the last few days, so I didn't need to water them until today. The soil was looking a little dry. I can tell they are getting crowded in there. The newest one is fighting for light. I think I've got the backing of my wife to make a garden home for them. I think the corner of the backyard with the hole in it and the moss will work. That area already has a fence on two sides and it will get plenty of sun. The water should be plentiful as well since it is on the drainage area that feeds down to the Erie Canal. I think about 15X8 is good enough area, but how am I going to keep the little fuzzy critters out of there? I guess I'll ask the wife, she knows a lot about gardening in general. I think now that she sees the potential of these things, I've got her interest. The "leader" is not looking so hot. His stalk seems thinner and weaker than the rest. He also has a split in his main vine. Not sure if he'll be able to make it... but I'll try to keep him in the light as best I can.
