Myth confirmed. The male flowers were ALL open this morning. There were about ten of them open and numerour bees buzzing around them. This is a great sign of pollenation being possible without me having to lend a hand. When I return to look at the flowers in the afternoon, every one of the flowers were closed up tight. I'm speculating that these are morning only flowers. They have an interesting fragrence... something like a fall perfume. I can smell a hint of squash in the air, but I can honestly say that I've never smelt such an aroma before. The lone female hasn't opened up yet, I guess she is waiting for the right man to be in her life or something. But I did see two more female buds that are getting bigger and more orange in the bud area. I'll have to inspect again tomorrow.
