Pumpkin Growers Blog

Okay, several things. The female flower that is close to the Leader is definately pollenated. She is growing a little bit. I'll name her Zelda.
Ugh... I made a horrid relization this morning. Several of the leaves near Nancy have Powdery mildew disease. This stuff apparently gets on the leaves, chokes the plant, and spreads quickly. I quickly gave it a dose of fungicide twice today and went into the garden to clip the bad leaves. Gotta get that stuff out quickly. I only hope that me clipping all the leaves near Nancy won't hurt her chances of continuing to grow. I left one leaf on the vine she's growing on... the leaf the was closest to her. Upon being in the garden, I discovered a mature female flower that looked pollenated, I never saw this one, so I couldn't lend a hand.
Jessica is growing well. Surprise still seems small compared to the others...she doesn't look as healthy. Amber is growing rounder... I think she is bigger than Surprise already. Lisa is also looking quite round and well.
