Pumpkin Growers BlogAugust 17, 2008 The garden has really blown up now. I've got vines here there and everywhere. The couple days of sun must have done the plants some good.
I spent Sunday morning trimming dead flowers and useless vines that had no females on them. I think the powdery mildew is under control.
I found a new pumpkin! It was completely covered in a mess of vines toward the back row of the garden. I mean it is growing pretty well in there. It is suspended by vines and looks very good. Since it was a shock to find it... I'll call it "Shocker Mae"
I had another female flower fully mature... so I helped to pollinate it. If all of these flowers become pumpkins, I'll have about 9 of them!
