Pumpkin Growers BlogAugust 26, 2008Been awhile. I named one of the newer pumpkins hidden in the vines... Carrie. She's doing very well. The two females that were closest to the wire fence corner both died. Hard to believe, but I guess the plant just couldn't sustain them. I've got another really close to the fence that is growing for sure. I'm naming her Heather. Lots of female buds continue to popup. The Leader even has a female bud now! The way it is growing out of the fence, I'm not going to put much stock in it growing, but we'll see. Jessica is all orange now, and her stem seems brown. I hope this doesn't mean that she is now at her final size. She is big, but I think she could be bigger. I'll water them more tomorrow. |
