An update on the 2016 season – and the Game.
We are sorry to say that Pumpkin Hunt – The Game 2016 edition will not be released this year as intended. 🙁
After a major BATTLE with the spirits within the many devices we were trying to haunt with our awesome game… it looks like the devices win (for now).
The game was completely redesigned to make a better spooky experience for all. Your Admin, and FloridaBoy (our pro-bono consultant) were working non-stop since May and then August until this past weekend… yeah, non-stop! 2am wake up to rattle the skeletons and then off to bed at 8pm (and yes, a day job was mixed in there somewhere as well).
SO… we missed the mark this year for 2016. And we understand the disappointment that our fans might be experiencing… no game, no teams, no fun. 😛
However, our adoring die-hard fans… the ones that have been kind enough to reclaim their hunter status via the Returning Hunters page… will be given an exclusive link to the game in BETA mode. So that you can still have SOME Halloween fun while the Halloween spirit is still in full swing.
It is not there yet, we are looking to put it up this weekend. So, please don’t ask yet.
Oh, and yes… we will be putting in some effort into bringing over your Hunter Profile information. We still have ALL records and awards from the old site… but just haven’t had the chance to put them back on.
By the way, BETA mode of the game… that means BUGS… BUGS that might very well EAT your SAVED GAME or steal your Pumpkin at the Last move! So, it will be a PLAY At Your Own Risk deal.
There will be no support… no crying over Ogres that are really mean, or items that don’t appear. And your web browser may very well NOT let you play. Because the technology we are using seems to have its old set of issues. 😛
You will still be eligible for Spirit Point earnings for your profile if you do play and earn the right amount of points (100,000 = 1 Spirit Point)
And, if you tell us about a problem that we didn’t know about, we can shoot some spirit points your way for your help. 🙂 Because we cannot find them all.
This will all go to the 2017 season, of which, we WILL have the game in place as intended to be released. Believe me, there are a few more items that I wanted to put in and got cut because of time limits.
For the next 2 days, your Admin and company are going to enjoy the Halloween season, because we have not done so yet… and get some much needed rest.
The time for enjoying the Spirit Halloween stores and Ghostly Displays is winding down soon so we must get out there while we can!
The Hunt for Real Carved Jack-o-lanterns will continue. We are actively looking for them and recording them, so hopefully you will be too.
